Well, apparently I'm not the best blogger in the world...my life has become a bit crazier in the last week since I started 3 jobs simultaneously. I am now a barista at Starbucks, I am privately tutoring people in Chinese, and I am a bonafide house/cat sitter. I am enjoying all of these jobs a lot (except for when there is a tornado and the house you are living in gets flooded). Also, watching these 2 cats is like having a baby in some ways...even if I shut the door to my room, they will still come and meow at the top of their lungs and scratch my door at 5 am so I will get up to feed them...talk about high maitenance!!! Starbucks is super fun except when you have to wake up at 3:45 a.m. to get to work by 4:25 a.m...YIKES!!!
So, last weekend I hosted a little party at the house I'm staying at...YES, they told me I could do this...in fact encouraged me to have parties. The house has a pool and a huge outdoor BBQ pit. The original plan was to have a pool party and BBQ. Unfortunately, the rain stopped only long enough to BBQ, there wasn't much swimming. The Nuckols were up in the area for the weekend and so we decided to get a bunch of the metroplex hommies together. Rachel and Jared even came up from B/CS! Russell and Bethany Leatherman were in town too and I got to meet their precious baby Ty...gosh he was cute! It was so much fun to see everyone!!!
I have a lot of pics....but they won't upload right now...I'll have to save that for later!

Welcome to the wonderful world of opening at Starbucks! I know your pain. Have you learned to make an "Undertow"/"Breve' Blaster" yet? They are fantastic for getting you going in the morning.
I need you help. I got a barista for my birthday and tried to make a drink and it SOOOO doesn't taste like starbucks! Help!!!
To make fun of Starbucks and not the gift giver (cause those things are expensive) but the machines that Starbucks sells aren't well made. I hated whenever we had to use them. I'm always impressed when people do make good espresso, or steam milk with it.
Best of luck.
