Texas, Oh Texas

On our trip to Texas, we learned many things:

How to play the grocery game.
Just because you name your dog smarty, doesn't mean he will live up to his name.
If you don't speak Spanish, it's probably not a good idea to say you do in a job interview.
If you get a job and need to go back to fill out paperwork, it's best to remember what your current last name is or it will take them along time to find your papers.
It is possible to get a downtown office job and take off 5 weeks during the summer.
It's ok to scream, 'pooh pooh pants' over and over again in a public restraunt.
It is possible to raise chickens in a nice, sub-urban neighborhood.
If you want to make the big bucks, build a driving range next to the quicklube.
It is not so attractive to open your shirt during a group photo--Mattgraham.
60 cents seems like a lot of money when you break a jar of baby food.
Yuna is the super nanny.

Thanks for the good times...if i left anything out, please feel free to comment.

The CAMEL's back

So, the other day I was walking on the street with a friend...we turn the corner and both jump in suprise as we see a camel booty about 10 steps in front of us...he's back!!! Our city has this random camel that shows up every summer. You can just see him roaming the streets, perusing among the bicycles, mingling with the locals...it's quite a site. He shows up with his owner in the summer...I think the man tries to make money off his poor camel...you know, let's people sit on him and what not. My question is...where does Mr. Camel hang out for the other 9 months of the year???

CAMPING in Chiner...who knew???

So, it's been a while since my last post...sorry about that! This past weekend I went camping with 8 friends. I didn't even know there was camping here...didn't know that you can rent equipment and everything. So we left early Saturday morning to catch the train to a town outside of the city where there is a mountain. We climbed the mountain and that night camped at the base of the mountain. So, coming down the mountain was a little crazy since I was wearing my running shoes that have absolutely ZERO traction. I managed to wipe out 5 times...one time landing FLAT on my face...it was pretty embarrassing. It was also pretty funny camping with this group because most of them had never been camping before, never hiked with a backpack and my friend Leslie couldn't figure out the sleeping bag! Here's to camping in Chiner!
