So, there is a lady who lives in town who has this tiny dog. For a year now I've seen her all around town and at all times she has her dog in a baby backpack on her front side. I recall seeing her on the bike path, at the grocery store, etc. Now from these few instances, I figured maybe she was training the dog or something.
One day I saw her at the gym with the dog in the pack & then in the locker room, she opened her locker & out came the dog. I came home from the gym experience and told Ross about this puzzling story about this lady and her dog. He thought I was crazy until all her secrets were revealed in a newspaper article. Apparently, (don't quote me on this exactly) she has some rare blood disease that can make her heart start beating randomly & this dog can detect when it is about to happen--therefore, she carries it around at all times. At a later date, her story came up with some friends of ours who know her well & they mentioned that she also always wears winter clothes b/c she is always extremely cold. I guess I had never noticed this in my continual thoughts of the dog, but when they mentioned it, I did seem a little bizarre that she was wearing gloves & a hat at the gym. Anyways, tonight I sat by her at church. She really is a nice lady, but then I noticed she was wearing boot gaiters--what are the boot gaiters for I wondered? It is not raining or muddy. Why would anyone take the time to put on boot gaiters if they are unnecessary? I'm still wondering. And this is where my story currently ends.

I'M BACK!!!
Hello fellow American citizens...it's true, I have landed on American soil. Hello! Right now it just feels kind of like a dream, like a vacation...we'll see where I'm at in a few days. I was totally amazed last night when we got back to our house from the airport and there were a bunch of people here to surprise me! Some sweet girls drove all the way up from College Station and Curtis drove up from Baytown =)! Dang it, I'm so blessed! I love you all and can't wait to talk to you and catch up with you. Funky V, thanks for the voice mail on Jared's phone. Today we're having "Christmas dinner"...making it up at least...having turkey and everything. My fam even left up the Christmas tree so we could have Christmas again. Well, that's all I got, gonna hang out with the friends and fam. LOVE YOU GUYS.

Now that is Tortilla Madness

So, on my way to work the other day, I was listening to NPR & a story was on about the tortilla crisis in Mexico. Apparently, the price of tortillas has gone up over 50% & it's a major deal. I was half way interested in this story until I heard the reporter say, "The average Mexican eats 10 tortillas A DAY!" This was the shock of the week! I thought for she probably said per household...so I went to the website & found out it is infact 10 per person per day!!!! I mean, is it healthy to eat 10 of any one thing a day? Can someone please give me some insite to the possible nutritional value of tortillas? I mean, I probably eat one a month..am I missing out?

Corn, I love you so (Ode to Corn)
Oh corn, I love you so
I even eat you in the snow
I like you roasted on the cobb
Even better than steak kabobs
When I go back to America what will I do?
I just don't know if I can live without you.
Everyday your on my mind
There truly is no other like your kind
All the corn vendors they know me by name
Everyday they know it's the same
Here comes that foreigner, she wants some corn
Which vendor should I buy from, each day I'm torn
Oh corn, I love you so...
I'll eat you everyday until I go.
I even eat you in the snow
I like you roasted on the cobb
Even better than steak kabobs
When I go back to America what will I do?
I just don't know if I can live without you.
Everyday your on my mind
There truly is no other like your kind
All the corn vendors they know me by name
Everyday they know it's the same
Here comes that foreigner, she wants some corn
Which vendor should I buy from, each day I'm torn
Oh corn, I love you so...
I'll eat you everyday until I go.
